Parker and a bug

With the spring weather has come a new stage of life for Parker.  He’s cracked out of his baby shell and entered toddlerhood.  Proof is in the pictures below, which I took at the playground where wanted to get out of his stroller and walk around; to explore every inch of the park.

His first fascination was not the equipment or the other kids but some little red bugs he spotted within the first few minutes of his newfound freedom.

This last picture says it all to me.  See how far away from me he was?  He spent more time at this distance than close by, getting a small taste of independence.  He tested the limits a few times and had to learn the hard way that going a few steps farther when I called him back gave him not-s0-pleasant results, but for the most part he respected the boundaries.  I’m excited to see the transformation from baby to toddler though I know that before long he’ll be a big kid.  True as that is, he’ll always be my baby.
