We had a joint birthday party for our youngest two sons this weekend. I think I’ll keep them combined as long as they’re both happy with it! We had a blast and most of the friends who came would have been invited to two parties… this just consolidated the activities.
We began the party by singing Parker’s favorite song, “Birthday Birthday.” On Tuesday, his actual birthday, we had gone in his room to wake him up singing the traditional song that all Americans know and love. As soon as we finished Parker said, “Birthday Birthday, ‘gen.” Meaning, “Sing Happy Birthday to me again.”
Our guests gathered around the table and someone asked the same question our boys had asked the day before. “Whose name do we sing first?” I replied that when we get to the part that would have said, “Happy Birthday dear Bailey,” we would instead say, “Happy Birthday, Bailey and Parker.” It worked out beautifully! I can’t wait to have a few minutes to edit the video and share it later.
What joy it brings to this mommy to know that so many people love my kids and were willing to come and celebrate them with us! Thank you to each family who attended the party.
