Because there’s no AC at the Edelweiss Lodge and Resort, Matt and I had to leave the door to the balcony wide open to let in as much of a breeze as possible.

The first morning I stirred as the sun started to rise and quickly, though silently, closed the door and the room darkening shades so that Parker would not wake up early.

The third morning was the morning I woke up early and watched the sun rise.  See picture here.  The second morning I slept right up until the moment the sun glared off my iPhone and into my eyes.  Parker did well, though, and didn’t wake until it was time for him to get ready for the day.  Here’s what we saw:
